The Micklegate Ecclesiastical Trust
The charity supports the Church of England’s religious and charitable efforts in the Holy Trinity Micklegate parish.
About the charity
The charity was set up to further the religious and charitable work of the Church of England in the parish of Holy Trinity Micklegate. It also has a particular focus on the repair and maintenance of two churches on Micklegate: Holy Trinity Church and St Martin-cum-Gregory Church.
The current charity is a successor to a long line of charities that have been merged and amalgamated into the current format.
Our previous charities were The Holy Trinity and St Martins Ecclesiastical Trust, Holy Trinity Micklegate Church Close Trust and St Martin with St Gregory Church Estate Trust.
The Trustees meet quarterly to consider applications. These meetings normally take place in February, May, August and November.
Please note that the charity does not own or operate Holy Trinity Church and St Martin-cum-Gregory Church, and the Trustees’ have no oversight or control of these buildings.
Area the charity covers
The charity covers the ecclesiastical parish of Holy Trinity Micklegate in central York. This area stretches from the River Ouse up Micklegate and then on towards The Mount and the Knavesmire.

If you are interested in applying for a grant from the charity, please apply in writing, detailing your charity’s requirements.
All applications will be acknowledged before and after the Trustees’ meetings.
When sending your application (by post or email), ensure all sections are complete, that you sign the form and attach the required supporting documentation.
Please note that the Trustees meet quarterly, and any applications are subject to their final decision. Any grants awarded will be eligible for publication on our website and annual report for the guidance of future applicants.
